Gideon Jura, zanim stał się legendarnym wędrowcem, był zwyczajnym chłopakiem ze sfery o nazwie Theros, inspirowanej grecką mitologią. Pochodził z miasta-państwa Akros (główne kolory: biały i czerwony), wzorowanego na Sparcie i słynącego z niezrównanych i nieustraszonych wojowników. W czasach, gdy na Theros przybyła Elspeth, Akros było oblężone przez armię minotaurów, skaptowanych przez wypaczonego satyra (oraz wędrowca), Xenagosa. Mieszkańcy Akros odznaczają się męstwem, ale i inteligencją.
Z ciekawostek: Theros to jedna z dwóch sfer MtG (drugą jest Ravnica), do której Wizards of the Coast wydało podręcznik źródło do D&D.
