Seven-masted schooner Thomas W. Lawson (145 LOA) with full sails.

"Thomas W. Lawson was a seven-masted, steelhulled schooner built for the Pacific trade, but used primarily to haul coal and oil along the East Coast of the United States. Named for copper baron Thomas W. Lawson, a Boston millionaire, stock-broker, book author, and president of the Boston Bay State Gas Co., she was launched in 1902 as the largest schooner and largest sailing vessel without an auxiliary engine ever built.Thomas W. Lawson was destroyed off the uninhabited island of Annet, in the Isles of Scilly, in a storm on December 14, 1907, killing all but two of her eighteen crew and a harbor pilot already aboard.
Her cargo of 58,000 barrels of light paraffin oil caused perhaps the first large marine oil spill."(Wikipedia)

A World War 1 U-boat diesel engine, built in 1917, running under load for the first time in years, after being moved to the new location of the SHVP.
This U-boat engine was built in 1917 by Blohm & Voss in Hamburg to operate in a German submarine. This engine however never made it into a U-boat as the war was running to an end. The engine was stored and transferred to Holland during the second World War to operate as a generator engine in a water supply company where it was producing electric power up to the 1960's.
It's a four stroke engine with six cylinders and a overhead camshaft, the exhaust valves are water cooled. Attached to the engine is a four step, high pressure air compressor which provides about 80 bar necessary for the diesel injection, as common fuel pumps where not developed yet.
To start the engine a pressure of 80 bar is needed for the fuel injection system and a large volume of air at 20 bar to set the six cylinders in motion. Once started the engine's own compressor takes over the high pressure fuel injection.
The engine drives an AC generator of 480 kVA built in 1944 by Smit Slikkerveer in The Netherlands.

Start up of a 6-cylinder diesel engine. The submarine engine RS 34 S was used in the Type XXIII submarines. Originally, it was designed by MWM as a diesel generator for the battleships Bismarck and Tirpitz. The engine has 108 liters cylinder capacity (18 liters for each cylinder) and 576 hp at 850 revolutions per minute.
The engine is located in a museum in Kiel, Germany:

Now this is what I call a real beauty. Would love to give her a spin on one of those days when the breeze is just right to make her dance. This is the Götheborg. A fully functional replica of an 18th-century Swedish East Indiaman and is also the world’s largest working wooden sailing ship. This picture was taken on her recent visit to London’s Canary Wharf.
Her crew is about 80, and there's no need for previous experience as a deckhand. As long as you can climb the rig, you can apply.

@Dolan 1600 dolarów to nie drogo, kiedyś spotkałem faceta który robił żaglowce RC i koszt 8k pln 10 lat temu za Opty bez aparatury. Robił też modele muzealne np. Kuter wg projektu B368 model statyczny skala 1:8 kosztował 10k.
Na allegro lokalnie sprzedaje teraz sety do samodzielnego montażu b368 za 300zl lub zrobione za 500-700 zł ale w skali 1:20

@SUQ-MADIQ widziałem na wykopie te ogłoszenia. No Polacy niszczą każdy rynek pracy na którym się pojawia. Ja sie właśnie z Danii powoli zbieram do kraju, bo końcem roku się zalapalem na kwotę wolną od podatku i nawet udało się fajnie zarobić, teraz jednak już nie ma sensu tutaj dłużej siedzieć.
