Kiedy Trump próbował zostać prezydentem w 2016 mało która znana osobistość była gotowa udzielić mu poparcia. Trump był powszechnie krytykowany przez media, celebrytów, polityków czy nawet jego kolegów biznesmenów. Zamiast tego większość elit poparła wcześniej Clinton, a potem Bidena. Dziś ta sytuacja coraz bardziej się zmienia.
Elon Musk to najbardziej znany tego przykład. Nie udzielił on co prawda bezpośredniego poparcia dla Trumpa. Stał się jednak otwartym krytykiem polityki Bidena choć jeszcze w 2020 roku na niego głosował i wyraźnie zaczął ostatnio sympatyzować z republikanami.
Do krytyków Bidena dołączył też Jeff Bezos. Od 2022 roku Bezos aktywnie, negatywnie wypowiada się o polityce obecnej administracji prezydenckiej. Oto jedna z jego ostatnich wypowiedzi tego typu.
