Uzbrojony mężczyzna wjechał na teren lotniska w Hamburgu, zabarykadował się w samochodzie z dzieckiem i zatrzymał pracę lotniska.

Ignorując strefy bezpieczeństwa, wjechał na pas startowy. ścieżkę lądowania, oddał dwa strzały w powietrze i rzucił dwie płonące butelki.

Według wstępnych informacji powodem działań mieszkańca Dolnej Saksonii pochodzenia tureckiego był spór w sprawie opieki nad czteroletnim dzieckiem. Zakłada się, że ukradł go matce. To ona skontaktowała się z organami ścigania, przekazując, że jej mąż jedzie w stronę lotniska. Policja od kilku godzin komunikuje się z mężczyzną w języku tureckim. Nalega, aby uzyskać pozwolenie na wyjazd z dzieckiem do Turcji. Ten incydent dotknął dziesiątki lotów - część z nich została odwołana, inne przekierowane.

Behold the 1:50 scale model of the Queen Mary 2 built completely of Lego! 

The QM2 was ordered in the year 2000 by Cunard, designed by our dear friend Stephen Payne to be a true ocean liner and built at the Chantiers de l’Atlatique, Saint-Nazaire, France. She has been on duty since 2004. With the retirement of the RMS Queen Elisabeth 2 in 2008, the QM2 is the only real ocean liner on duty.

The people of Hamburg have a special love for this ship, that visited our Harbor regularly and will hopefully do so soon again. Her most spectacular visits were the ones she made to the dry dock 17 of Blohm & Voss whenever she needed a refit. A scene like that took place in 2008, just as our Museum was about to be innagurated. That's why the Museum choose to have that scene immortalised. The result is this impressive construction made of over 780.000 Lego bricks that weights over 900 Kg. The ship alone is 7 m long. The work was made by René Hoffmeister and our Dutch friends Klaas Meijaard and Deborah Zeelig. If we count the repairs and improvements that were made to the model two years ago, a total of 1500 hours of work were needed to build it. When the diorama was originally completed shortly before our inauguration. The builders asked if it would be alright to ad figures. We are glad the curators accepted. The diorama is no not just amazing, but also really funny and the search for the ghost that is hidden in it is an important part of the treasure hunt game that we offer to all our younger visitors.
